Beepbox is a typescript webapp that lets you create your own music right in your browser. It's pretty hassle-free; No plugins or patches to download, just doodle in loops and it starts to sound like music! There are many mods of beepbox, the most notable ones these days being ultrabox and slarmoo's box.
I don't have any formal training in music. I'm mainly self-taught, minus a few youtube videos here and there. What is great about beepbox for me is the lack of friction involved in making a track. No pressure to fine-tune anything, no pressure to even finish a clip. As someone who is more of a visual artist than musical, it has served as a good starting point into composition. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the tunes!
